I’m inspired by YOU, District 42! It is an honor and a privilege to work beside you every day to ensure that we have thriving schools, good jobs and a strong economy, affordable health care, a healthy environment, safe neighborhoods and empowered seniors here in District 42. Thank you for your spirit of community. Thank you for not giving up hope. And thank you for sharing our bold vision of a prosperous District 42 for all!
I grew up in the community of Anneslie, where I live with my husband Eric, a school social worker, and our two young boys Sebastian and Spencer. As your next Maryland State Senator for District 42, I will call upon my 25 years of deep experience working in Community, Housing and Economic Development at all levels of government, as well as in the nonprofit and private sectors. My background in mediation, policy research and development, grant writing, public and private financing and strategic planning will ensure that an abundance of resources are brought home to our communities here in District 42. Let’s work together with our neighbors across Maryland to find common ground solutions that prioritize people over party lines, and get things done in Annapolis – OUR TIME IS NOW!
My husband Eric and I are raising our children Sebastian (8) and Spencer (5) in the community of Anneslie in District 42 where I grew up. Sebastian loves to read, learn about science (he is a three time winner for his grade of the Stoneleigh Elementary School’s STEM fair!) and play his cello. Spencer is a construction paper enthusiast, likes dancing and playing the piano, and is loving kindergarten! Both boys have fun playing soccer and baseball with our local rec league, and growing veggies and flowers in our garden.
We live on the same block in Anneslie where my mother and stepfather have lived for over 30 years. When we moved here in 1986, I entered Dumbarton Middle School in the 6th grade, and graduated from Towson High School in 1992. It’s been wonderful raising our two boys in Anneslie, and being part of such a warm and welcoming community. I love walking Sebastian and Spencer to school every day, volunteering in their classrooms and having the opportunity to re-discover through their eyes the wonderful sports and outdoor activities, arts and culture, and community events that I was fortunate enough to grow up with here in Baltimore County.
My decades-long career in public service has led me to take this monumental next step of running for public office in my home community of Baltimore County. As your new State Senator representing District 42, I will honor your experiences and perspectives, and will strive every day to make your needs, ideas and concerns THE priority as we craft legislation in Annapolis that ensures thriving schools, good jobs and a strong economy, affordable health care, a healthy environment, safe neighborhoods and empowered seniors. I will listen to you, and collaboratively serve with transparency, respect and accountability. OUR TIME IS NOW!
